OSU Hillel proudly celebrated its historic 100-year milestone on May 1 at its grand “Centennial Celebration At The Shoe.” However, the historic celebration is far from over. This summer's cultural highlight will be punctuated by an exclusive evening of fine art, live music, and philanthropy titled “One Hundred For One Hundred,” taking place at Hillel University on June 28, 2026.
K Gallery is proud to invite select guests to experience a breathtaking exhibition of world-class fine art from a premier private collection. The special event will feature 100 stunning paintings by legendary Jewish artists from the K Gallery collection, courtesy of curator Edward Khodorkovsky.
Private Art Evening & Exhibition Concept
Guests will enjoy a sophisticated atmosphere that seamlessly blends visual art, live classical sound, and fine wine:
- Curator’s Opening Lecture: Renowned collector and curator Edward Khodorkovsky will personally open the event with a brief introductory lecture on famous Jewish paintings, sharing the rich history behind some of his favorite pieces.
- A Museum-Quality Experience: According to organizers, the sheer scale and caliber of the exhibition rival top-tier museum events. The walls at Hillel University will showcase masterpieces by world-renowned figures as well as highly celebrated second-tier painters.
- A Diverse Showcase: The exhibition promises a deeply engaging experience. Visitors will be treated to a dynamic display featuring not only traditional paintings but also original sculptures and mixed media artwork.
- Live Music & Wine: Throughout the evening, honored guests can enjoy live classical music and fine wine while browsing the exceptional collection.
“We thought this is something different and unique, right?” Cynthia Levy told the Cleveland Jewish News (CJN). “Shabbat (at) the Shoe was very successful this year, a wonderful event. We were just looking to bring more things to the celebration. We like to get the community inside of the building to see what’s going on.”
Masterpieces of the Centuries: 100% Original Artwork
Curator Edward Khodorkovsky emphasized in his interview with the CJN that every single piece in the collection is a verified original. “It’s not any kind of prints or anything,” he stated. “And they are by the famous Jewish artists like Pen, Marc Chagall and Al Lissitzky. There are also some second-tier painters, but they are also very famous. It will be like going to a museum event with a lot of high-level Jewish paintings.”
Featured Artists in the Exhibition:
- Marc Chagall — One of the most influential figures of the 20th-century avant-garde.
- Yudel Pen — Master of realist painting and the legendary mentor of Marc Chagall.
- El Lissitzky — A pillar of Russian Suprematism and Constructivism.
- Louise Nevelson — Acclaimed American abstract sculptor.
- Léon Bakst, Mikhail Grobman, and many other iconic creators.
History of the Collection & Philanthropic Mission
The journey of this remarkable collection began in 1993, when Edward Khodorkovsky received his very first piece of artwork as a gift—a painting by German painter G. Korus. Since then, the collection has grown exponentially. Today, Khodorkovsky is thrilled to present these treasures for a vital fundraising cause.
All 100 featured paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces will be available for purchase. This exhibition serves a profound humanitarian purpose: 100% of the profits will be donated to OSU Hillel in full, courtesy of K Gallery. This offers patrons a rare opportunity to acquire an original masterpiece while directly supporting vital community and youth initiatives.
