Evgeniy Kropivnitsky

(13.07.1893 - 19.01.1976) 

 

Poet, painter, graphic artist, illustrator and teacher.

 

In 1904-1911 he studied at the Stroganov School of Industrial Art, where he graduated with the title "scientist drawer».

In 1912-1920 studied painting, experimenting in the spirit of Cubism, Expressionism and Futurism, but also wrote poetry and music. He studied at the University of AL Shanyavsky at the Faculty of History (1915-1918).

In 1920-1923 conducted art workshops in several cities of the North, the Urals and Siberia (in Vologda, Tyumen, and others). He captivated the ancient themes of mythology and fantasy stories.

In 1923-1939, after returning to Moscow, along with his wife, artist O. Potapova, lived on the station Lianozovo near Moscow, communicate and make friends with P. Kuznetsov, A. Tyshler, Konchalovsky, A. Shevchenko.

 

Worked as head of the art studio in the Forest School. Vorovsky, taught in the homes of pioneers. Teaching left much time for creative work, and he enthusiastically painted in the spirit of expressive cubism, and in 1930 moved on to landscape painting.

Since 1937 has repeatedly exhibited his works at exhibitions of artists-teachers of Moscow and the region.

He works with oil, tempera, gouache, watercolor, pastels, color and black ink, markers, sanguine, black and colored pencils, paste, pens ... he works in the prints and monotypes. «Lianozovo»

One of the first artistic communities of the opposition of art was formed in 1956 around Eugene Kropivnitskogo - poet and artist - at the station Lianozovo near Moscow. The group included not only artists - Eugene Kropiwnicki, Oskar Rabin, Vladimir Nemukhin, Valentina Kropivnitskaya, Leo Kropiwnicki, Lydia Masterkova, Nikolai Vechtomov, but poets - Henry Sapgir, Igor Holin, Vsevolod Nekrasov.
